Our Story
Welcome to Island Sun Coffee.
We are a family owned and operated coffee farm since 1998. Our farm is located on the Island of Hawaii, on the slopes of Mt. Hualalai, above Keauhou Bay on the Kona Coast.
Our coffee is grown under a canopy of Monkey Pod trees combined with the rich volcanic soil provides the perfect growing conditions for our 100% Arabica coffee. As the coffee ripens, it is hand-picked, then milled.
We mill our coffee with an Eco-friendly processing system, that allows us to conserve water as well as filter and separate the solids that are used in our organic composting system that goes back to the fields as mulch to replenish nutrients back into the soil.
We then let the coffee beans ferment, for a period of up to 15 hours, this process separates the mucilage from the beans. The coffee beans are then washed and slowly dried by the sun.
Our coffee is exceptionally rich, highly aromatic, well balanced, smooth-bodied, notes of chocolate, and low in acidity.
